The intermix.io Collector extracts data from customer data environments.
Optionally, the the intermix.io Collector can scrub SQL text to remove string literals and comment blocks. For more details on the scrubbing feature, see the intermix.io Collector Security Guide.
Who Should Use this Procedure
This article is for organizations who wish to enable / disable scrubbing on a Collector.
Steps to Modify Scrubbing Level
If your collector was created by the intermix.io CloudFormation script, then following these instructions. If you are running the container within an orchestration system, then follow your internal procedures to add docker environment settings.
- SSH into the Collector instance with user "ubuntu"
- Get a root shell
- Edit the file "/collector.env" and edit the value of SCRUB_LEVEL.
SCRUB_LEVEL accepts two values, 0 or 9.
- Change the value for SCRUB_LEVEL to indicate the level:
SCRUB_LEVEL=0 (no scrubbing)
- Stop the container using the following command (it will be restarted automatically within 5 minutes)
“root# docker stop intermix_collector”
That’s it. When the collector restarts, it will use the new configuration going forward.
